Research Impact Assessment

Measuring the multidimensional societal, economic, and policy impacts of scientific innovations emerging from the College of Science.

Service Guidelines & Institutional Framework

The Research Impact Assessment (RIA) is an institutional evaluation framework spearheaded by the College of Science Innovation Committee in close coordination with the Office of the Associate Dean for Research and Extension (OADRE).

Framework Status: The formal metrics, scoring rubric, and reporting mechanics for Phase I (Outputs & Disclosures) and Phase II (Societal & Commercial Adoption) are actively coordinated across all nine institute research coordinators.

Assessment Pillars

1. Intellectual Property & Transfer

Patents filed, utility models granted, copyright registrations, and formal licensing agreements executed with adopters.

2. Societal & Policy Integration

Adoption by national government agencies, local government units (LGUs), community healthcare systems, and policy briefs authored.

3. Economic & Industrial Value

Spin-off enterprise creation, jobs generated, cost reductions in industrial processes, and foreign import substitution.
