Innovation Program for Faculty & Researchers

Supporting faculty inventors, principal investigators, and laboratory directors in protecting scientific intellectual property and licensing technologies.

Technology Transfer & Commercialization Opportunities

The College of Science is committed to translating faculty research into tangible societal value. The CS Innovation Committee provides end-to-end guidance—from preliminary prior art search and Invention Disclosure filing to customer discovery and industry partnership agreements.

Official College Memoranda

All faculty members and researchers should review the established college guidelines governing intellectual property and research classification:

CS-GAT Memo No. 2023-025 Thesis and Dissertation Innovation Form: Establishes the procedure for classifying student and lab research as "I" (Innovation) to streamline patent evaluation prior to public defense or publication.
CS-GAT Memo No. 2024-15 Inventory, Assessment, and Review of IP Assets of the College of Science: Mandates the periodic collation of invention disclosures, patents, utility models, and industrial designs across all nine institutes under OADRE.
